A Syriac corpus needs to be conceived in sufficiently broad terms if it is to meet the varied needs of Syriac scholars. Thus, the stated objective for the Syriac Corpus is to incorporate all Syriac literature. However, we are mindful that over-ambitious idealism has been the downfall of many worthy endeavors. Thus we are taking a gradual and deliberate approach to building a Syriac corpus; one that proceeds toward the final vision through a series of meaningful, achievable, and self sufficient milestones.
